01 Career history: I bought my first (tiny) newsagents in 2001 and turned it into a c-store, buying the store next door to expand the business. I then bought Ardeer in 2005 as a completely run-down business, but over the years have transformed it into a state-of-the-art 18-nozzle Jet forecourt and double-storey Nisa store.
02 Dream job: Farmer. When I was 13 and living in Pakistan my father died, so I stepped in to run my family’s farming business.
03 What do you drive: Range Rover.
04 What would you like to drive: Lamborghini.
05 Perfect day: The day my daughter was born. She’s 11 and the boss in our house!
06 Favourite team: Tennis is the only sport I really enjoy watching I’m a huge fan of Andy Murray.
07 Favourite read: I rarely find the time to read, but Ian Rankin’s Watchman is one of my favourites.
08 Favourite film: Notting Hill a classic romcom!
09 Best holiday: Orlando with my family it was an unforgettable experience!
10 Possessions you couldn’t do without: My mobile it keeps me connected 24/7 if my staff need to get hold of me!
11 Most admire: Nelson Mandela he was inspirational and the ultimate people’s champion.

13 Least likely to say: "That’s okay you’ve done enough."
14 Greatest achievement: Being crowned Scotland’s Local Retailer of the Year.
15 Greatest fear: Being lonely.
16 Tips for business success: Never give up hard work always pays off.
17 Best business advice you’ve received: Not direct advice as such, but Richard Branson once said "Take care of your employees and they’ll take care of your business". I couldn’t agree more!
18 Best thing about your job: Being supported by fantastic staff and very loyal customers. I’m very fortunate that my staff are just as passionate as I am about Ardeer’s success.
19 Most recent business achievement/s of note: Winning the ’Scotland up to 4mlpa’ category in this year’s Forecourt Trader of the Year Awards.
