Deal sees Booker’s Scoot app linked to Just Eat’s delivery network

Scoot has joined forces with Just Eat, giving Booker’s in-house delivery service access to the Danish firm’s vast fleet of couriers.

The partnership means Booker’s symbol retailers – which include Premier, Budgens, Londis and Family Shopper – can provide fast home delivery to customers without the need to organise their own drivers and riders.

Booker has also developed an API (application programming interface), allowing the two firms’ software platforms to talk to each other. Customers will order from Booker-contracted stores using the Scoot app, with deliveries then fulfilled via Just Eat’s network.

Colm Johnson, Booker’s retail managing director, says the partnership would help stores “offer a great delivery experience while keeping it simple and cost-effective”.

Matt Ephgrve, Just Eat’s managing director for business, comments that the deal blends Just Eat’s trusted courier network and technology with Scoot’s platform to make home delivery more accessible, reliable and efficient.
