The Co-op has added an additional forecourt to its estate, at Gnosall in Staffordshire, and reopened a second, at Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, after a £1.3m refurbishment.
The addition is at the site of the former Texaco filling station on Station Road where it has completed a major programme of works which has seen the pumps, canopy and tanks replaced and a new 2,700sq ft food store created.
The new site supports 15 local jobs, with the new larger Co-op store and fuel station creating three additional jobs as the Co-op relocates from its former store in the village.
Gnosall’s new Co-op includes customer car parking, a bakery, free ATM, hot food and Fairtrade coffee dispenser, alongside a focus on fresh, healthy products, meal ideas, food-to-go, award winning wines, ready meals and pizzas, free-from, vegan and plant-based products and, everyday essentials. Amazon Locker parcel collection is also available.

At Knaresborough it has reopened its petrol filling station along with a new, larger food store after a 10-week closure to carry out a programme of works and improvements costing more than £1.3m.
The convenience retailer has almost doubled the size of the food store on site to more than 2,600sq ft and overhauled the petrol filling station with new pumps and canopy.
The new-look site supports 12 local jobs, with vacancies for up to four new colleagues to join the store team.
Knaresborough’s new-look Co-op – located on Boroughbridge Road – includes customer car parking, a bakery, free ATM, hot food and Costa coffee dispenser, alongside an enhanced and increased focus on fresh, healthy products, meal ideas, food-to-go, award winning wines, ready meals and pizzas, free-from, vegan and plant-based products and, everyday essentials. Amazon Locker parcel collection is also available.
