Gulf cheque Coatbridge Thistle FC

Money has been awarded to a number of good causes from funds raised by Gulf’s loyalty platform, Oomph, and the collective efforts of staff and customers at participating Gulf forecourts.

The Isle of Wight’s Mountbatten Hospice is one recipient, nominated by Northwood Garage in Cowes. It recently received a cheque for £1,000, presented by forecourt manager Ben Maher.

“We’re tremendously grateful for the support of Northwood Garage and Gulf,” explained Mountbatten CEO Nigel Hartley.

“The money raised under the Oomph Loyalty Scheme could not have come at a better time as our fundraising has been significantly affected over the past year. The need for our services, supporting those who are facing death, dying and bereavement continues to grow, so this donation is very welcome.”

In North Lanarkshire Coatbridge Thistle FC, a community club providing free football training for children of all ages, has also benefitted.

Club president Rob Maclaren said: “With the kids returning after a year away, financial assistance is more helpful than ever. It will now not only help us to pay for safe training facilities but also provide the children with essential training aids like new bibs, balls, cones and props.

“We are a family run club that likes to put as much money as we can into the children without parents worrying about the costs. One thousand pounds will help us massively and is really appreciated.”

Other recent beneficiaries include Severn Hospice in Telford and The Leap Project in Cambuslang.
