Detectives from Leicestershire Police are appealing for public help after a cash machine was broken into at a petrol station in Ashby overnight on Tuesday 30 November.

The incident took place at the Londis petrol station in Nottingham Road around 1.05am when a white Ford Tipper van containing three people pulled up on the forecourt. Three men wearing face coverings used a crowbar to force the cash machine open.

The suspects made off in the van with the cash boxes along Nottingham Road. The Tipper van was found abandoned in Coal Field Way. It’s believed the suspects made off in a second vehicle.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have seen the occupants of the vehicles acting suspiciously in the area.

They would also urge anyone who has video recording equipment installed in their vehicles to check if they captured any footage which may help with the investigation.

Detectives are also keen to speak to anyone who has come across damaged or stained bank notes.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 4471 Beth Pick on 101, quoting crime number 21*696087.
